The Shire is divided into four main regions: the Northfarthing, Southfarthing, Eastfarthing, and Westfarthing, with Hobbiton and Bywater at its heart.

The Party Tree stands in the center of Hobbiton, a massive oak where Bilbo Baggins held his famous farewell party. The hobbits live in hobbit holes—cozy, circular homes dug into hillsides, with round doors painted in bright colors. It is a land of beauty, peace, and simple joy.
